Participatory planning for inclusive post-disaster reconstruction

My role: Co-founder and coordinator of the Resilience by Design programme hosting this project.

Project management, partnership building, design of participatory methodologies and co-facilitation of workshops involving more than 200 Newari families affected by the 2015 earthquakes. Training of local architects, urban planners, engineers, heritage specialists and community mobilisers in participatory planning techniques to Build Back Better in the Kathmandu Valley.

Supervision of field team members, to develop guidelines and proposals related to housing reconstruction addressing safer building techniques, heritage, subdivision and density, as well as collective construction and community organisation strategies.
